About the event

Valentine's Day Comedy at The Workman's Cellar

Emma Doran

Emma’s jealously of Billy Barry kids came to a boiling point over 9 years ago when she decided to do her first stand up gig at the Ha’penny Bridge Inn. It was love/obsession after that first 7 minute set to 20 odd people and she hasn’t stop since only to give birth ocassionally.

Most recently Emma was part of the fab five that made up RTE sketch show No Worries If Not. Emma confirmed her spot on the national broadcaster after achieving huge success with her online comedy sketches. Never forgetting about her stand up roots though she she’s been gigging non stop and has performed at some of the countries biggest venues like 3 Arena. And after 2 sell out shows in Liberty Hall in 2022 with her show Mad Isn’t It Emma is set on chasing those venues as a headliner (well Vicar street anyway).

As a regular on televison series like Republic of Telly, Bridget and Eamonn and Callan Kicks over the years Emma has even popped up in Amazon Prime’s series Modern Love in 2022

She’s also been a regular TV and radio contributor on shows like Clear History and if audio is more your thing she has 2 podcasts- one with her daughter called You’re Grounded and one with Muireann O’Connell And Another Thing

Not bad for a girl who had a baby during her Leaving Cert, eh?

And she’s not finished yet

John Spillane

John Spillane, winner of the 2015 Irish Stand Up inter varsities, has performed all over Ireland and the United States over the past 3 years, compelling audiences with his high energy and high concept style of comedy. When he's not on stage, John is an amateur film maker, with awards from both the 48 hours and Fan Forum film festivals.

"John held a rapt audience in the palm of his hand and lavished us with perfectly dealt love and abuse in equal measure." Sligo Now

"A rising star!" The Limerick Leader

Criag Moran - Host

All of this prepared him to do stand up comedy when he finally quit his bar management job and persued his dreams of being a comedian.  Craig is a regular in all the major comedy clubs in Ireland, gigging with some of the best acts the country.
